SQUAD RUNS VEHICLE FIRE
Monday, August 18th - Around 0930 hours Squad 61 was dispatched to the 100 blk of the White Horse Pk for a vehicle fire. Squad 61 went with 4 volunteers. The Squad & OIC Freiling arrived with a vehicle off in the rear yard and went to work with the bumper 1 3/4 line. The Squad returned to service about 45 minutes later.


TRUCK HEADS EAST ON EXTRA ALARM
Sunday, August 17th - Around 0400 hours Waterford & Winslow Twp fire departments were dispatched to the unit blk of the White Horse Pk in Chesilhurst for bells. Within about five minutes the bells were upgraded to the box. The establishment was now reporting a kitchen fire. Engine 258 arrived and reported heavy smoke showing from a one story restaurant. Tower Ladder 61 (w/6 volunteers) was specialed as the FAST truck on the second alarm. Tower Ladder 61 & 6104 (Capt. Bishop) arrived and were assigned FAST duties on the Delta side of the building. Command placed the fire just after 0500 hours. Tower Ladder 61 returned to service shortly after 0600 hours.
ENGINE SPECIALED ON AN 85 BOX
Thursday, August 14th - Just before 0600 Camden County Communications struck a Task Force 853 box, reporting a house fire in the unit blk of Sherri Ln. Squad 86 arrived and reported a working fire in a two story dwelling and struck the all hands. Around 0610 hours Engine 61 (w/4 volunteers) started on the move-up to Station 86. As the Engine Company was signing on they were special called into the job. Engine 61 arrived and went to work on division two opening up and knocking down pockets of fire which were found while completing the overhaul of the second floor. The engine returned to service just after 0800 hours.
TWO FOR THE DAY
Tuesday, August 12th - Just after 1830 hours the Task Force was alerted for an apartment fire in the 800 blk of Brand Ave. The calling party was reporting a kitchen fire. 6101 (Chief Busch) arrived within miuntes reporting a 2 story middle of the row garden style apartment with nothing showing. Squad 61 arrived shortly after the chief and began to investigate. The Squad reported a stove fire contained to the appliance. Command reduced the assignment to 1 and 1. The Squad returned to service about an hour later. Just as the Squad was clearing the box on Brand Ave, Communications dispatched them to the unit blk of Garfield Ave to investigate the alarm. The Squad found a faulty detector and returned to service 15 minutes later.
HOUSE FIRE IN OUR FIRST DUE
Saturday, August 2nd - Just before noon Task Force 611 was alerted for a dwelling fire in the unit blk of Brand Ave. 6304 (DC B. Delucca) arrived and reported a 1 1/2 story dwelling with nothing showing. Squirt 63 arrived first and began to investigate. As Engine 61 (w/5 volunteers) arrived at the plug Squirt 63 called for the line reporting a kitchen fire that had extended into the walls. Engine 61 moved forward to assist with opening up and checking for extension. Tower Ladder 63 arrived and command ordered the ladder company to vent. Command placed the fire in about 19 minutes, and reduced it to 2 and 1 to complete the overhaul. The companies returned to service about 45 minutes later, after assigning the Fire Marshal's office with the investigation. Later in the evening the Company was dispatched to White Horse Ave & Gibbsboro Rd for a crash. Squad and Engine 61 responded with a total of 9 volunteers. The Squad arrived and reported a 2 vehicle accident and was operating securing the vehicles and controlling fluids. The company returned to service in about 20 minutes.
SQUAD RUNS ANOTHER CRASH
Thursday, July 24th - Just before 0330 hours the Squad company was alerted for a vehicle into a pole in the 200 blk of Berlin Rd. 6101 (Chief Busch) arrived and reported a one vehicle accident confirming a car into the pole with no entrapment. Command reduced the assignment to just the Squad. Squad 61 (Capt. Dimitri) with 4 volunteers arrived and assist EMS and secured the vehicle. The Squad return to service about 10 minutes later.
FOUR RUN DAY
Saturday, July 19th - Just before 1100 hours the engine was dispatched to the unit blk of White Horse Ave. for wires. The engine responded with 5 volunteers. Upon arrival the engine determined the line to be a Comcast line and went in service. Later in the afternoon a Task Force 611 box was struck reporting an apartment fire in the 200 blk of the White Horse Pike. The calling party was reporting a fire in the walls at the Clementon Norse Apartments, Charlie bldg. Engine 61 and Tower Ladder 61 responded with 9 volunteers. 6101 (Chief Busch) arrived reporting a garden style apartment 30'x100' with the bells activated but nothing showing. Engine 61 arrived and began investigating for the source of the fire. Squad 60 grabbed the plug for engine 61. The engine located overloaded electrical equipment and began checking for extension into the walls. Command placed the fire under control in about 15 minutes and reduced the assignment to Engine & Ladder 61. The engine & truck retuned to service around 1645 hours. While the companies were assisting the County Fire Marshals office at the apartment fire, the Engine ran two additional calls.
THREE RUNS FOR THE DAY
Sunday, July 13th - Less than an hour into the day, the volunteers were again on the street for an assignment. The companies were dispatched to the Wooster Towers for bells. 6002 (DC Winters) arrived, reporting the bells off on the second floor. Engine 61 (OIC Frederick) went with 4 volunteers. Upon Engine 61's arrival command had the crew investigate the cause of the activation. The companies determined overcooking and proceeded to perform vent operations. Command placed the companies in service about 20 minutes later. Then around 1045 hours, Power Wagon 61 was specialed to Pinelawn & Holland Aves. in Lindenwold for a deep seated woods fire. Power Wagon 61 worked the fire with assists from the NJDFS. The power wagon returned to service about an hour later. Later in the afternoon Engine 61 with 6 volunteers relocated to Station 84 (Blackwood), while the local companies operated on an apartment fire in the Millbridge complex. Engine 61 returned to quarters about 70 minutes later.

Saturday, July 12th - Just as the dinner hour was underway the volunteers were on the street for a bells run in the 200 blk of the White Horse Pk. at the Clementon Norse Apartments. This time the bells were off in the Charlie bldg. Engine 61 responded with 4 volunteers. Engine 61 arrived and reported a malicious false alarm and returned to service. Shortly before 2000 hours another Task Force 63 box was on the street for the 500 blk of Bilper Ave. Communications was receiving reports of a fire in the laundry room of the 4800 of The Pines. Tower Ladder 61 responded with 4 volunteers. Squirt 63 arrived reporting a trash can fire, and held the assignment to themselves.
TRUCK RUN TASK FORCE 63 BOX
Thursday, July 3rd - Just as the night shifters were returning to the Boro, a Task Force 63 box was struck for the 500 blk. of Gibbsboro Rd. Camden County Communications were receiving reports of an apartment in the Arborwood complex with smoke emanating from the windows. Tower Ladder 61 responded with 6 volunteers. Squirt 63 and Tower Ladder 61 arrived in the complex together reporting light smoke showing that they were investigating. Command reduced the assignment to 1 & 1. The ladder returned to service around 0735 hours.
TASK FORCE FOR THE ROUTE 30 MARKET
Wenesday, July 2nd - Just after 0100 hours Task Force 61 was alerted for the 200 blk. of the White Horse Pk at the old Rt 30 Market for a building fire. Police arrived in minutes and reported rubbish against the building. 6304 (AC DeLucca) arrived, reporting nothing showing. After making his way to the Charlie side of the building, command found a pile of rubbish off and reduced the assignment to Engine 61. Engine 61 went in service 15 minutes later.
SQUAD & ENGINE RUN CRASH
Tuesday, July 1st - Just after 1800 hours the company was dispatched to the 200 blk of Berlin Rd in our first due for a crash. The reports were coming in for a vehicle that struck a utility pole and split the pole in two. Squad 61 responded with 5 and Engine 61 responded with 6. Squad 61 & 6105 (Capt. Dimitri) arrived on location and reported a 1 vehicle accident with the pole split. Engine 61 arrived, found the vehicle in a parking lot. The engine company began fliud control and securing the vehicle. Command placed the engine in service after they completed their assignment and held the Squad until the vehicle was safely removed. The Squad returned to service around 1900 hours.
